Paul Robinson, principal, is professor of double bass at The Ohio State University and is a former member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra and the United States Navy Band in Washington, D. C.  Before joining the faculty at the Ohio State University, Robinson served concurrently on the faculties of Howard University, Montgomery College, Prince Georges College, and the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music.  A student of Philip Albright, Oscar Zimmerman and Homer Mensch, he has performed under such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Pablo Casals, and Leonard Bernstein.  He is a former New Products Editor for the International Society of Bassists and a former editor of the Double Bass Forum for the American String Teacher.


He also served as editor for the double bass book in the Hal Leonard comprehensive string method series, Essential Elements for Strings.
Robinson is an active clinician and has served on the board of directors of the International Society of Bassists. He has presented numerous workshops and master classes across the U. S. and in Canada, Europe, and South America.
