Performance
Performance majors may earn the BM, MM, and DMA degrees,
preparing them for employment in orchestras and chamber groups
and commercial
music as well as in private teaching and teaching in higher
education. Each of these degrees draws on the resources of
a distinguished academic music department and a major university
as well as on an extraordinary faculty of string artists.
String
majors gain extensive performance experience with the
Symphony Orchestra and the active chamber music program
coached by the string faculty.
In
addition to generous undergraduate scholarships, graduate
fellowships and teaching associate positions, OSU string
majors have access to a small collection of fine string
instruments for their use while enrolled.
